Samba Panza names former Seleka advisor as Central African PM

BANGUI (Reuters) - Central African Republic's president Catherine Samba Panza named Mahamat Kamoun as her prime minister on Sunday, replacing Andre Nzapayeke, who stepped down last week.

Kamoun is a Muslim who served as a senior advisor to the leader of the Seleka rebel group Michel Djotodia after he briefly seized power last year.

Nzapayeke resigned to allow Samba Panza to name a more inclusive government in an effort to end sectarian violence between the Muslim Seleka rebels and Christian militia.
